As a Professional Truck Driver you need your Information to be Accurate and Trustworthy.
This is the 21st Century! Why are cross country Truck Drivers still buying, and trying to keep track of, a shoe box full of maps, guides, truck stop locators, and company training manuals that just might have terminal directions? Not to mention the tens of mapping programs that don't even come close to having really accurate, professional information. Even our Google maps won't show all the address locations correctly, I'll get into that when I write the map primer. And if you could afford to buy each new issue, most of the information is 12 to 24 months old when you get it. I can show you information in one of the most highly rated and priced publications that is over ten years out of date!
What gives me the right to rant like this? Oh, 1.223 million career miles driven; 7 years for US Xpress OTR and Dedicated (a good place to work), 3 months pulling RVs (don't even want to go there, not a good industry to work in), 1 year for Sunrise Express from Grand Island, NE, (a better place to work)and 1½ years with Crete Carrier Corp (an even better place to work) as a driver for Wal-Mart groceries out of North Platte, NE. And for the last 6 months I've made an in depth study of my bedroom ceiling (REALLY not a good place to work) after severely breaking my ankle in NW North Dakota . I hope to be back with Crete as a truck driver by the middle of September. But I digress.
I can hear it now, 'h**k I've forgot more than he's learned', and that is why I want your assistance to help me make this the most complete, useful, and FREE transportation related site on the WEB. Don't get me wrong! There are many good sites with great information on them, BUT, you can't find them when you need them, or they would work better if they were combined. And there's a lot of information that hasn't been made available that would only need a drive-by confirmation or customer opinion survey.
I currently have a huge volunteer staff of 3: my wife, Peg, who has been my nurse and rides with me when she can; our monster CHI-HUa-HUa Arnie, who is on 24 hr guard of his mom; and the person who in radio would be our man on the street, but I prefer to think of him as my man in the ditch, Wayne Johnson. He's a truck driver for AnR out of Morris, IL, and swears he’s never been off the road. BTW, thanks for the HUa Steve.
Our future pages will include, but not be limited to, mapping, routing, weather, jobs, lifestyle, health, training, and so much more.
We would be honored if truck drivers, and all others associated with the transportation industry, would bookmark our site and keep an eye on us. We welcome all ideas and constructive criticism, and hope you'll make your mark on our site in the future. Our temporary address is snrubbj(at)gmail(dot)com. We should have several new pages live very soon.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jeff Burns
UPDATE!!!! OCT 10th, 2009
Got my left knee replaced on Sept 28th, so I get to study the ceiling for 3 more months. Maybe I'll be running again in December.
Gee. with all these new parts maybe I can partner-up with Lee Majors and start selling Bionic Hearing Aids.
Stay Safe,

Another UPDATE!!!! Jan 27th, 2010
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Well, at least I hope yours is going to be better than mine. The Orthopedist gave my knee the all clear and is arranging the RATING for Work Mans Comp for my Ankle. That's the good part.
Because of all the abuse to my body over the last year, my sleep apnea, edema, memory, and several other things are much worse. I'm on oxygen at night and can't stand or sit up for more than 30 minutes then lay down for 15. Can't currently drive the car and my days in the Truck Driver lifestyle are over.
Hey, that ain't all bad. I get to stay home more and build the site and do house work. Ugh!
Well, keep an eye on the sight it won't be long and I'll be asking you to sign up for my new FREE Newsletter.
Till the next time, thanks for stopping by, and
Stay Safe,
Jeff
